Day 1-shopping in Korea

By the way, misscaltra, u were not supposed 2 see just the pics. i didnt have time to upload all of them or put descriptions yesterday so just think of this as a new post :)
Plus, descriptions are at the end, pplz.

The first 3 pics were taken in the Buddhist restaurant that we ate at where we got vegetarian food. The restaurant was absolutely beautiful. Ornate pictures lined the walls, and bright pink paper lamps shaped like lotuses dangled from the ceiling. The food- well, it was interesting. Enough said.

The next picture is "OK art." In Korea, so many places have funny names like this! I saw a place called Arson Club, and another called PMS. So much is lost in translation.

After that is a picture of me with my dad's colleagues.

Next- me looking for gifts to get u guys!

Next is a picture of me in front of a giant calligraphy brush sculpture. lol.

The last pic is the coolest of all. In the hotel we're staying at, there's a giant mural made from wood blocks, and when you walk past it, it shows your reflection in the blocks. It's kinda like your shadow, but it's created by the blocks moving.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!

It was my blog's anniversary yesterday! I want to do something uber-special to celebrate. But I don't know what! So comment with your ideas so Through the looking glass can have a FABULOUS 1st anniversary!!! To commemorate the beginning of my blog, I will post here some of my favorite quotes form Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass, by the AH-MAZING Lewis Carroll!
Alice:
I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think. Was I the same when I got up this morning? I almost think I can remember feeling a little different. But if I'm not the same, the next question is 'Who in the world am I?' Ah, that's the great puzzle!

Alice
I can't explain myself, I'm afraid, Sir, because I'm not myself you see.

The Hatter
Why is a raven like a writing desk?

The Mock Turtle
Reeling and Writhing, of course, to begin with, and then the different branches of arithmetic -- Ambition, Distraction, Uglification, and Derision.

The King
Begin at the beginning and go on till you come to the end: then stop.

Alice
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?

Humpty Dumpty
"Outgribing is something between bellowing and whistling, with a kind of sneeze in the middle: however, you'll hear it done, maybe-down in the wood yonder-and when you've once heard it you'll be quite content.

Bubbles, woohoo.

Hello, all! One blog I 4got to link- misscaltra.blogspot.com.
Geta sandals! Kyaaaaaaah! Sorry, randomness. Pop, pop, pop all the bubbles! I loooooove bubbles. You know, my sister got bubble machine like a year ago and it is the coolest thing ever! Can you believe bubbles are just SOAP and WATER? Genius invention, I say, absolutely genius! And, to top it all off, (MissCaltra is gonna HATE this...) bubbles are physics in action!
Pascal's principle:
Pressure in a fluid is transmitted evenly throughout.
Wasn't Pascal a genius, all? He discovered the physics in BUBBLES! This just goes to prove that ANYTHING and EVERYTHING fun and non-school related, my friends, can be turned into a long, boring lecture. And why, you ask, am I mentioning such unpleasant thoughts right now and spoiling your summer vacation? Because, readers, I care about you. Genuinely and truly. I don't want your brains to rot this summer. I'm being generous and refreshing your memory so you can have a head start next year. Really, no need to thank me. It's nothing. I rather enjoy ruining your fun. *smiles evilly*

Dreams, atoms, and endangered cheese...

Canadian flag! Tribute to Xtizzle :)
First of all, I want you guys all to check out my friend-ish Lauren's blog at http://laurenkasle.blogspot.com, it's really awesome! And also the website- www.ijustmuse.com! I'm going shopping today for back-to-school, which is a subject I don't even want to think about, but any excuse to go shopping is good :) I miss everyone so much! My subconscious has been sending me odd messages lately. Maybe dreams are unknown desires, like Sigmund Freud said. Or maybe a dream is a message using symbolism. But, readers, what does falling through emptiness filled with clocks, pictures of manga characters, and food network memorabilia mean? My dreams need to be regulated.
On another note, here's Dalton's atomic theory-
-all substances are made up of atoms
-atoms are indestructible
-atoms join together in fixed ratios to create compounds

Whenever I step into my closet, I feel like someone is stalking me. Not that anyone would have any reason to.... except for the fact that my closet contains a refrigerator with eighteen varieties of extremely rare, moldy cheese from remote villages in Nigeria. Ooops...probably shouldn't have told you guys that-now someone might try to jack my cheese! NOOOOOOO!

My new math book is so messed up. It says to use the intercept-slope method to graph 3x+4y=12. But it's the slope-intercept method. Seriously, it bugs me so much when people mix up the order of that.

Well, ta-ta for now, see you guys next post! By the by, I am gone from the 23rd to the 29th to Korea (EH.MA.GAWD. MY CHILDHOOD DREAM!!!!!)! and also the last two weeks of July to Costa Rica with one of my BFFLs. C-YA GUYS! BYE!

Night-time child

Inky black
shrouds the sky
a veil, hiding her
apple-blossom
cheeks, and hair
like soft
autumn breeze
midnight sky
shields her eyes
letting light in
but not out
twinkle song
stars along
pathway to the night-time.

Regarding my post "Is good pop music dead?"

Hmmmmm. I guess this is just a matter of opinion. Lauren is right in saying that pop is the music of today. It is. Nothing we can do about that. I have Emma and Lauren on one side, arguing that pop music is, in fact, still alive. I have Darya on another side, saying that good American pop is, indeed, dead. So this is dependent on opinions and tastes. And that is my conclusion.
