Find time to do it : A letter to my school director (and other directors too)
"I want the best for my own children." This mantra repeats itself in the minds of new parents and longtime parents alike. But my question is, does a school director believe in this phrase? Being a director, your duty is to establish the best for ALL your children, meaning your children by blood AND the children who attend your school.
Directors have an important job. Children's special interests should be nourished. In middle school, there should be no concept of "We are ranked #1 worldwide because we have a great Math program. Yes we have a language arts program too but er.... Did I mention our 5th graders are doing algebra?" An all around education is important, even if the child is sure he or she is going to major in one certain subject.
That's where extracurriculars come in. If a parent or child feels the education in the school for a certain subject is inadequate, or more often, that the child has a special interest for that subject, an extracurricular activity is sure to help. And that's why you can't claim you have no time to fit Orchestra into the school schedule. Because childhood is too precious. It influences who you become as an adult. Interested, but not successful because of an inadequate extracurricular program, or, interested, successful, and prosperous, because your middle school director found time to take each child separately, like a flower that needs to be watered, planted in good soil, and nourished. So, directors, find time to do it. You could change someone's life.
By the way Thomas, you do know that they are canceling orchestra cause they don't have time to fit it into the schedule.

Poem
The desert confesses its secrets like a thread of sunset, worried yet beautiful. The Nile’s lions can’t escape the heat in golf. If the Saguaro cactus made a shadow, it would be a person with 1 leg. This is to remind us of the comfort we can find in our homes or how the starlight sprinkles us with tears. Without doubt, the shadow of this shadowy figure is unafraid of light. The city confessed it causes a lot of pollution. The shadows are led by the sun. The shadow is kept in fire. Joys double. Sorrows dissolve. Strategic, like folding origami.

Weird chocolate- by meeming on Purpleslinky
You MUST see this link. I googled "strange flavors of toothpaste and it came up with this list of weird chocolate flavored items. Read it or Brussels sprouts will take over your bedroom!
Chocolate Toothpaste
This is a limited edition Chocolate flavored toothpaste made by Uniliver Philippines back in 2005 and there are already some other brands selling it by now. I have tried using this before and it does taste like chocolate. You hardly see chocolate toothpaste in stores around but if you do, I recommend you to buy one since researchers have studied and proved that chocolate toothpaste is better than a fluoride.
Chocolate Bubble Bath
This is a chocolate flavored bubble bath which I think is best for kids. Smells like real chocolate, works just like your regular bubble bath product.
Chocolate Soap
Want a sensual and relaxing bath? Chocolate soap would be a go-to for a change. This definitely has a chocolate scent and even ingredients same as the real chocolates. It is somewhat odd though. Just picture your self having a bath with a chocolate melting on your body to soothe your mind.
Chocolate Candles
Looks like a real chocolate but it isn't. It does have a chocolate scent. Chocolate candles can be a perfect addition to a very romantic candle light dinner.
Chocolate Dress
Dare to be different? Try wearing a dress made of chocolate and you'll definitely catch some attention. Chocolate dresses are usually made for fashion shows or a one-night only event because it will definitely melt once it catches heat.
Chocolate Perfume
Studies say that the smell of chocolate perfumes can lead to arousal? Hmm. Interesting.
Chocolate Wine
Chocolate and wine combined in one liquid drink anyone? For real, this wine is made up of not just grapes but also some chocolate ingredients. It taste like chocolate with a mix up of wine. What a perfect combination.
Chocolate Pasta
This definitely is real pasta. What makes it bizarre is that of its chocolate flavor. It's like eating chocolate spaghetti which I couldn't imagine. I do believe that chocolate pasta is tasty with the looks of it.
Chocolate Gum
A chocolate flavored gum, that's odd. It is made up of real cocoa and ingredients of making a bubble gum. I haven't tried any of these because I think it's nasty, I could be wrong though.
Chocolate Sushi
Now this is a bit gross. Chocolate sushi is made up of real maki, other sushi ingredients and natural chocolate to wrap the sushi up. I couldn't imagine what it tastes like.
Chocolate Beer
Chocolate beer has the combined aroma of real chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. It has a deep black color base that is creamy liquid that gives a sweet sensation at the end. Available mostly in Ireland and there are also brewers in U.S like in Boston.
Chocolate Bandages
Chocolate bandages are real milk chocolate bars that are wrapped to suit not just kids but even adults for soothing scrapes, scratches and cuts. It is molded in a band-aid like shape. It is not recommendable though to apply chocolate bandages to our wounds.

Oooops! :-(
Reincarnation
Do you believe......in reincarnation? Can it effect your love? Your life? Who were you in a past life, and what will you be in your next life? Or do you believe that you will finally join the heavens after this lifetime because you were good? Deja Vu? Why do we have Deja Vu? And does it have to do with being reborn? If you are a human now, can you become a vegetable in your next life? And when does the life of a vegetable end? When it is eaten? If you were a vegetable in your past life, does that mean that you eat your soul now, in the vegetable of your past? Or does fate will it to be that you avoid decimation of your past, and hate that veggie? What if you become an animal? And if Fido becomes Frederick, and Frederick becomes Fido? Your dog will have control of you, yet your soul will still linger within the realms of your past characteristics. Is there a past? And why do you need one? Like an abandoning a home or a child, can you abandon a past? Will your abandoned past join with someone else's soul? And will your reincarnation end when you abandon a future? Can you join with the Gods when you abandon the present? Do you forget your abandoned present? Or do you look upon it? Can you believe?
Only you know........
Only you know........
The Serpent's Lotus-Born Creator
Before life, there was a dark, never-ending ocean containing all the happiness, sorrow, laughter, pain, jealousy and wishes in all eternity. The ocean licked the edges of a dawn that couldn’t emerge in the mist. There a lord sat, in a tiny bubble on the scales of an unsuspecting sea serpent. One day, the bubble popped as the lord’s sleep had been interrupted, by what, he did not know. Suddenly, a lotus blossom appeared out of the serpent’s head. A tiny little immortal man climbed out. “Ah, I have been awaiting your arrival for a while”, said the lord.
“I have an idea, young one. Make the sun. I need light so I can read.” Immediately the lotus-born creator began to light leftover Diwali candles. He conjured an array of sticks from the air and placed a candle in each twisting curve of oak and hazel. He catapulted it into the air then and light began. A sun. He took a cherry blossom which bloomed into the moon. “Let us create the world! Otherwise, who will enjoy this beauty of starlight?” said the lord. He took the emotional water and formed a majestic Bengal Tiger, the cunning jackal, the steady camel, and a human. The lord took a string and wove it into many seeds, but before he could finish, his servant bumped into him and the seeds all scattered. They grew lush, green grass and soaked up most of the water. And out of the mist, a perfect first dawn emerged. Lord was so surprised that he dropped all the humans and animals and floated upward. Eternality was never the same again.

Ponder the World
If Life’s purpose is to heal, why get angry at those who hurt?
Why does a bird sing if the river of Sorrow has washed away its home, its family sings with him?
When an explosion happens in the walls of a wandering heart, why doesn't the comfort provided by a home soothe?
Why don’t you need a reason to rest on top of the hill of optimism?
If the reflection of a mirror is incorrect, then what is a mirrors never-ending purpose?
Why must a knowledgeable brain always contradict a desiring heart?
Ticking clocks and watches do not mark time, so what does?
