KYAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Oh my god. The apocalypse is finally upon us. THE WORST, I say, THE ABSOLUTE MOST HORRIBLE event on this planet of earth (besides 9/11 and war) has just occured. iTunes just took off HUGE AMOUNTS of j-pop from their downloads. You can no longer download your favorite Ayu, BoA, or Ai Otsuka (not to mention tons more!) songs from iTunes. This is the tragic story. I was minding my own business, it was a sunny day, and I decided to get the Ayumi song Depend on You. A few weeks ago I wanted it but I didn't have a gift card. Today, I got one, ready to buy the song, and I search the name Ayumi Hamasaki. Nothing comes up. I make it all lowercase. Still nothing. I search Hamasaki Ayumi, as they would say in Japan. Nada. Fine, I think, maybe Ayu had some copyright issues or whatever. That's okay, I can still get that new Ai Otsuka album. I type Ai Otsuka into the search bar. Zero. Otsuka Ai. Zip. Nothing. Then BoA. They've taken off all of BoA's albums except 2 of her EP's- BoA and Eat you up. Neither of which are her good albums. Everything else is gone. Kotoko- they have only one kotoko song left. I panic, rapidly typing in the names of all the j-pop artists I know, and I am disappointed. They've chopped the j-pop selection in half. Gone. Goodbye, j-pop. I'll miss you. I want to petition these crazy people from Apple whose dense, thick skulls can't appreciate the bubbly happiness of Japanese pop music. Let's bring j-pop back to iTunes! But while we wait, what'll we listen to? Lady Gaga, The Black Eyed Peas? To them I say- ewwwww, that's not real music! So join the J-pop revolution!!!!!! BRING AYU BACK!

Well, I don't listen to j-pop anyway and I've got no idea where my dad's iPod is and I'm pretty sure he hasn't an idea either, but... maybe we could start a petition!?!
ReplyDeleteomggps i want more jrock music!! i cant believe theres almost nothing left. i only know 2 artists but stiull- its HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!! and theyve taken huge ammounts of european music too!!!! i cant find Hadise or Yohanna on there!!!
ReplyDeleteUmmmm... Well we live in America so what can you expect? You can probably get all of those songs off of Limewire for free. Also, since our economy sucks, Itunes probably had to save some money and make their selection smaller. Foreign music is probably the least listened to music, so they took it off. Also Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas are real music, except they probably sound different than that Japenese Music ur talking about. That's my opinion. Ttyl
